What Are GPU Rendering Hours?
GPU rendering hours describe the total amount of GPU processing power used to render your project in the cloud. Since Praxilla distributes animation frames across multiple GPUs simultaneously, your render can finish much faster than on a single local machine.
Instead of rendering frames one after another on a single GPU, Praxilla splits the workload across multiple RTX 4090 and RTX 5090 GPUs running in parallel. This reduces the actual waiting time significantly while GPU hours are calculated based on the combined processing time of all GPUs involved.
For example, a Blender animation with 250 frames that takes around 6 minutes per frame to render locally on your machine.
Rendering the entire animation locally would take approximately 25 hours to complete:
250 frames × 6 minutes = 1500 minutes
1500 minutes ÷ 60 = 25 hours
When rendering the same project on Praxilla using 12 GPUs simultaneously, the workload is distributed across multiple rendering nodes. Instead of waiting around 25 hours, the animation could finish in approximately 2 hours and 5 minutes depending on scene complexity, upload time, and node startup time.
The total GPU usage would still equal around 25 GPU rendering hours, because 12 GPUs are working on the project in parallel during that shorter period of time.
This approach allows Blender artists to render animations significantly faster while keeping their own workstation free for modeling, compositing, editing, or other work.
